- <p> DIED. Tom Harmon, 70, football legend and sports
- broadcaster; of a heart attack; in Los Angeles. A triple-threat
- back for the Michigan Wolverines, Harmon won the Heisman Trophy
- in 1940, then signed on with the New York Americans. After five
- years with the Army Air Forces and a two-year career with the
- Los Angeles Rams, Harmon turned to sportscasting full time. His
- son Mark Harmon starred in the TV show St. Elsewhere.
